Overwhelming? Not even close. In fact, the global tavern launch proves that the castle was a much better location for a global zone then the tavern.

Yes, overwhelming, especially the feedback in the castle while it was global, but feedback here as well.

Sorry, but you can't count the people who were in the castle during the global castle nightmare as supporters simply because they were present. They were in the castle for other things. If anything, the lack of attendance at the tavern and the arena is the indicator of interest in global areas overall. Even those of you who say you want a global area so badly also state almost no one (including some of you) would go to it unless it was located somewhere you are already going to be. That, too, is an indicator of actual interest.

I can. They were there, so it was a more populated global area. Most people are for the castle, as opposed to the tavern. They just don't like the lag the castle had on launch is all. We don't want the global area to be in a deadzone, because that means there won't be as many people there. Less people contributes to declines overtime, while having more people combats that. Having around 7 pages on global castle launch vs 1 page on global tavern(with more then half of the people cooking), says alot. The tavern is already dead, and its day one. I knew this was gonna happen, just didn't think it would be this quick.

This may amount to a newbie question, but nevertheless while in the global tavern can players from other servers trade items to other server players??

Re: Global Tavern

Has the possibility of trading with a player from another server in the tavern been addressed yet?? If so what was the answer?

You can't just take a phenomenon and attribute a cause to it as u please. The fact the castle was busy was cause many had to be there for ah and bounties. The only way to truly test how popular a global area is among the player base is to conduct a trial run of a global area where people don't have to go there aside from socialising. This was just done using tavern (tho not a perfect test since many are there for cooking). The results clearly show that people are not interested in socialising. So quit throwing the fact that the castle had 7 pages of people in our face as proof of people wanting the feature.

Unless cross-server trading is a thing, I would not like a global castle even if there was absolutely no lag. CH is a multiplayer game, and one of most core factors here is that one of the main ways of interacting with people is through trading, that is how people get geared and help gear others which let them play the actual game. So the fact that an area becomes global just means there are more people who you can barely do anything with. You can't dice, do giveaways, make competitions with prizes, ect., all of which are major ways of interacting with the people on your server. Joking around would not work either since the servers have already been developed so long and unless you play multiple servers often, you would not know the drama or big news happening on your server, and no other server will really care either.
One area that I would support becoming global is lir's reach if you move all the important bosses (meteor/event) out of there, expand fishing places or speed them up, etc. This may allow new players to feel like CH is not that empty, and they could possibly switch servers before it matters too much to be with their possible early friends. Plus, lir's reach is really expansive and it being crowded would not be an issue. Lag should not be an issue I am assuming based off other places like corrow that may be crowded at mord but no one is affected when doing some gold boss in the meantime. (should not be limited to just lirs but could be crookback, dustwithers, ect. basically, all of the low lvl places)

That’s a massive understatement. Personally I feel that if VR is going to make a cross server feature, then it has to be something grand. The global castle was something grand. Seeing so many pages of people and so many other players from different servers was something truly special. You get to meet and talk with a great different variety of people. The tavern doesn’t have that same affect... there’s only like 5-10 (more around prime time hours for this game) people around the main room at a time and like 15-20 people trying to cook lol. The amount of people there for the global feature will diminish over time and soon it’ll be nothing but a useless Global Kitchen

Besides, there was an overwhelming disgust towards the bugs and lag... not the global feature itself. The bugs and general lag can be fixed

If lag could've been fixed for all devices, VR would've done so by now. It's evident at this point the lag could not be fixed in a timely manner (may or may not be possible in the unforseeable future) after several attempts by VR. I still have friends that lag when there are 2 pages of people at large bosses.

Also, it's not just the lag or bugs. I myself found it to also be too convoluted. For example, trying to click on one person was hard with so many toons being in the small area in front of the ah. I did not find the experience enjoyable.

I agree, imo trading would've been the only reason for a global area. Like you said, it opens doors to so many inter-server activities and interactions. If the global area was based around this, no matter where it is placed, I'm willing to bet there would be plenty of activity there.
