Servers coming back online March 18th

Hello Heroes,

First we would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused by this issue and we thank you for your patience while we worked to fix it.

We have identified the source of the security breach which took place early Wednesday morning and taken measures so that it will not happen again. We will be opening the servers gradually today from 12:15pm CET onwards. Due to the issues, we have also rolled back the game to how it was several hours before the incident. More details regarding the issue and the changes made are described below.

Security Issue:
An attacker found a way to access the game servers and the game database. The game database contains information such as usernames, encrypted passwords, and emails for those who provided them to us. As a safety precaution, we strongly urge all players to change their password in game. This can be done from the account options once logged in or through the forgotten password function in the login screen. It is also good practice to change passwords on other sites if you used the same password as with Celtic Heroes.

After reviewing the method of the attack, we believe this security flaw is now closed.
Virtual Realms has been collaborating with us on this issue and we will keep you informed as any more information regarding the breach and the data becomes available.

Current State of the Game:
We will bring the server Belenus up at around 12:15pm CET today and others in the hours following. When you log into the game, you will see that we performed a roll back on our servers, so your accounts will be as they were on Tuesday 8AM CET. All platinum purchased and acquired since then will be reflected on your account balance. If not, please create a support ticket with all relevant information. Unfortunately, everything gained since then through gameplay or mystery boxes won't be restored. We have also disabled all real money purchases for the time being, as well as disabled the auction house.

For now our focus remains on security and getting the servers back up, but we will be looking at what a potential compensation might look like a little down the line.
