What to do if You Feel you are Being Harassed

There are several options available if you feel you are being harassed by another player, or have been the subject of inappropriate language. We ask first that all players try these options before contacting the Support team with any issues.

Preventing Harassment

Blocking Another Player
The quickest way of dealing with another user who is harassing you is to ignore it all together. Do not respond in the same manner as they have talked to you, or give that player any kind of attention.

There is a function in-game which will prevent another player from contacting you via the chat system.

To block another player:
  • Locate that player, and select the Examine option.
From the menu that appears, select Block.
This will block that player from contacting you. We are currently working on an option that will allow you to block another player without having to Examine them, and when this feature is available we will update this article accordingly.

Profanity Filter
If a particular player’s language is causing you concern, you may wish to enable the profanity filter so that it does not appear in your chat window. This filter will censor any profanities automatically.

To enable the profanity filter:
  • Log in to the game with your character.
From the Menu screen, select Options (the icon for this is two gears).
On this screen, select the Gameplay tab.
Select the box next to Profanity Filter.
This will enable the profanity filter, and prevent you from seeing any profanities in the game.
Reporting Bad Language
Any violations of our in-game policies and guidelines should be reported to the in-game Support staff for investigation. We are constantly working to ensure that our policies and guidelines are being followed in order to create a fun and safe environment for you to play the game in. You can help with this by reporting any instances of bad behaviour.

To report a player for bad language:
  • Go to the Menu screen when logged-in with your character.
    Select the Support option.
Enter your issue, including the name of the player you wish to report for bad language.
This will create a support ticket for us to review and take the appropriate action if necessary. Whilst we may not respond to you directly, please be assured that we will investigate the issue and act accordingly.

Ongoing Harassment
If a situation occurs where an individual player has been harassing you for some time, despite your best efforts to ignore that player and avoid contact with them (using the Block Player option), and you have reported the player’s behaviour several times to us, please report the issue using the following steps:
  • Go to the Menu screen when logged-in with your character.
    Select the Support option.
Enter your issue, including the name of the player you wish to report for harassment, the fact that this issue has been reported before, what was said, and any additional information that will be relevant to our investigation. In situations like this it is extremely helpful if you have screenshots saved on your device as evidence of the harassment, which you can then e-mail to us or send in a forum message if we require it to help with our investigation.
Our Support team will contact you and fully investigate the issue.
Please avoid posting harassment issues in the forum. Whilst we may contact you via the forum to gain more information or conduct or investigation, we ask that all players first and foremost use the in-game Support tool to report their issues.

Please note, that in order for us to address a harassment issue which is ongoing you must have exercised every option available to you in order to prevent contact with that player. This means you have blocked the player in question and reported them for bad language, yet they are still harassing you.

If you have any questions or queries regarding the policies or procedures posted here please do not hesitate to contact me or another administrator, and we will do our best to answer your question.
