The one through school would be the Apple educational discount. I could buy one directly from Apple with the discount. buying it from the school is no different.
Be0wulf, I'd be buying this to use for school as well as browsing and possibly as a hotspot if I go with a cellular unit and drop down to a basic phone.
I found out that if you have Verizon, you can get a 64G iPad Air 2 with cellular for under $500 if you activate it on your Verizon account through the store. I think the sale ended this weekend, but there should be one again in a couple of weeks according to the clerk.

I ended up switching to Verizon and picked one up through them for almost the same price as the refurbished.
Starting to wish I went with an iPhone instead of an Android based phone. Didn't realize all the security and privacy issues these things have. I've got to do a ton of research to figure out workarounds and better apps to use.

and it consumes alot of battery when playing
(and in general too, consumes anyways)
it also gets so hot, after a while (expecially if plugged in).
I hope the new ios will fix part of this problem but I still have not mustered the courage to update it, yet, cause I fear it will worsen the situation. I also wait for someone to do it for me cause it's better than doing it on my own,
it also loses connection often but this, I think, is a problem due to my providers who suck alot...

#15I don't have the overheating issue, but doing power intensive activities while charging (which generates a lot of heat on its own) will cause the device to heat up more than normal.
I was having connection issues until my WiFi issues were sorted.

and a friend of mine suspects
that the crash problems I experience after some time I'm playing and can resolve only by letting the ipad cooldown,
are due to the fact the simcard is located where's hotter (battery probably?)...
sometimes it happens if I have it laying on the table, rather than vertical on my chest...
it's some day that even when overheated, it lets me play
