Hey, I am a 180 fire mage. I'm looking for a offhand that most benefits soloing gold bosses...

Leaning towards either (1) Eldritch Grimoire of Mystery or (2) Eldritch Shield of Endurance


So the question is:

Which offhand is for me?...

I prefer shield when soloing but it all depends on your build and style of play, aswell as your other gear. My advice would be to talk to clannies and friends and see if anyone has one you can borrow and test with. If you are unable to find one then purchase and if you arent happy send a ticket and get a refund.

Do you feel 100 armor would make a difference? I'm using a LvL 100 shield currently, which has 200 armor.

I used the focus grim, but I always group leveled. If you are stuck solo leveling best bet would be a shield.

If you have DL grimoire I wouldn't bother upgrading to a shop, the 50 focus isn't worth the 650k

If you don't have a hrungnir helm already, I have a nice trick for you.

Get the grimore, and buy a set of high tier bear helmets.

Wear the right resist helmet for the right enemies, have the focus of the grim, and MORE then the "armor" of the shield simultaneously.

Because...

All 1 armor really is, is just 1 resist crush slash and pierce.

But, if you don't want to try out my bear helm trick, I'd say both shields and grimores have their places. Personally I'd take the grim because I like playing glasscannon.
