#5I wonder if these are AH prices because most people new to a server are going to be paying auction house prices and not the prices that they pay from friends on the server.

On numerous servers if you throw chests in AH for 55k each and do a 50k each buy out, they'll sell like crazy. Expensive yes. But people will buy them.
