Forums are not good for reporting?

#1
The forums are not a good place to report..grieving? My screen grabs I am unable to send to support as the pixel count is too high. Why is it that these forums support the need for offenders to have secrecy in order to continue to abuse and grief. I have read the policies no where does it say I have to remain silent about abuses designed to frustrate and set all my progression...by other people... I have seen in here a few times this unwritten no name no shame policy..who does this protect? The perpetrators or the victims??

Don’t tell me I can’t use this forum to report griefing. If OTM had ..had a better handle on giving out consequences for unwanted verbal and player interference in the first place I would not have to come here seeking a remedy. We deserve a gaming experience without all this unwanted amroal and asocial behavior. As Picard said, “Make it so”.

Hi! And thanks for the question. We strive to make the forums an enjoyable place for everyone to visit. Yes I know griefing happens in game. But if people start going back and forth about “he did this” “she did that” it becomes a toxic place to visit. We take all accusations seriously, which is why opening a ticket with OTM/VR support is a better avenue. Support is not equipped to read all the posts and act on them, which is why we push these reports to the in game support tool, or to email.

If your pixel count is too high, there are tools out there to reduce the size of them. I have the same problem and I use SimpleResize for iOS. It shrinks down the picture size so I can post it or email it.

TLDR support can’t read every post which is why ou should email or use the in game tool. You can use an app to resize your pictures if they are too large.

I understand but we provide VR now information about the game. This Forum is the only way in which, we currently are able to give feedback through. Why only talk about Flowers and Sun when we are all here to provide a better gaming experience for all of us or at least make it more customer friendly. The whole deal with posting here in the Forum is for VR to know what to work on or what to improve on. In the end, they rely on us -> we report bugs and make the game better.

Indeed, it should not get Toxic at all (that's why we got you) but there needs to be room to judge and outer your anger somewhere even if it will go unnoticed.

Thank you I will try or I will just spam Facebook with them. Depends on how much time I have.

Ok I’ll allow it, but I’ll be watching closely. Just a reminder: Please stay away from naming and shaming. Including clan names. Thanks!

What is that...where did it come from?? This is infuriating ...how can any intelligent, compassionate ...evolved human being with any decency EVER support that? What is this “no name no shame” thing? Where in any thing written on these forums does it state that is okay...or supported? Who made this up and better yet who agreed to it? And ...why Bitey do you support that?

I am going to not come back today...I am sorely disappointed and a little mad. That has got to be the worst thing any person suffering at the hand of another... should do. Period. Worst advice anyone can give ..to another person as well. Stop propagating that mentality.

This is a darn game...you log in to have fun..not be interfered with...called names...lagged out by sheer numbers...if griefing is what is fun they should be banned..there are more good people just wanting to have fun with ‘normal” social boundaries ...and common curtesy than these degenerate griefers. How people behave in a game...where they believe themselves to be anonymous and there for can not be accountable for their actions speaks volumes as to their character. Disgusting.

This is a good topic to discuss.
If you’re reporting a specific action that you need a remedy for, then the forums aren’t good. You won’t reach support, and if you by chance do you won’t get a reply as fast.
If you want to discuss a general topic like “do other worlds have griefing on bosses” then yes the forums can work for that.

There is a line though that moderators have to look for when locking/deleting posts. It’s hard to say what that line exactly is because it comes in many different forms. But referring to my gif above, if people are excellent to each other then there is no problem. When people stop being excellent, then we have a problem and the mods have to step in.

And sometimes we proactively step in if we see a conversation going down the non-excellent route. We don’t want to see anyone be banned or reported, which is why sometimes we have to blow the whistle and say “time out” to a post before it gets out of hand.

In the end, us mods try to do the best for everyone to make this place great, and we try to work for you to make this a good place. Mods are people, so we will make mistakes, especially if we don’t know all the circumstances of a situation. If you have an issue with our moderation, send us a PM or something. We will help you sort it out.

I think you are correct, I couldn’t find it anywhere. I know this has been a policy though for many years, and I’ll talk to Tahdaaah about getting that formally put in the rules.

Zone disruption is covered in the harassment policy posted here
http://celtic-heroes.com/forum/viewtopi ... 71&t=14402
If you have a problem with someone disrupting your play, or harassing you through chat, report them in game using the tool, or send an email to [email protected] with any pictures or video links you have.

Facebook is also not a great way to reach support, because they don’t look there. Facebook will not open a support ticket for them to work on. If you want your issue addressed, I suggest you use one of the two channels I mentioned above. Also, opening multiple support tickets about the same issue slows down the resolution time of your case. Thanks for your passion about the issue, because it shows you really care about making Celtic Heroes better.

Edit: here is the link to the name and shame policy along with other forum rules http://celtic-heroes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4958

I don’t understand why naming and shaming is wrong unless it gets out of hand

Throw the disgusting peoples name out there. If they were fine with ruining our game experience why should they be sheltered by the company safety net.

Why should protection be given to people who don’t care about others and only for their own benefit.

Why should the freedom of staying under the radar be given to those who show no remorse for what they do.

They don’t care about me why should I care about them? They revoke their rights when they decide to go against what we stand for. So why should they be protected by the rights they stand away from

One reason is because anyone can accuse anyone of anything without proof. To prevent false accusations, we have to prevent all accusations.

Also to add on to this, it can be weaponized to completely destroy another player's reputation.
