Bloodthorn is (and will continue to be) too hard for rhiannon

So we in InnerCircle decided to poke Bloodthorn after Gelebron today. We are the Dom clan, we had 41 online. It is extremely unlikely that we are going to be able to get many more than 45 online at once.

I won’t go into huge detail on what happened, but here are my notes

1) BT tank needs 5-6 druids currently. I foresee that with t8 offhand that will be 5, since tank shield will be stronger and the druids will be stronger too. This is sorta ok we can get that many.

2) The 5* root adds are wayyy too strong. We tested on frostroot both during our attempt at killing BT and after to test a strategy for killing them, and tl;dr Without a tank, the dps just gets wiped. With a tank on its own without druids, the tank dies fairly fast even on t1, then all the dps die and we can’t kill it anyway. With a tank and a druid with high breath and wards, the group with druid (we had tank, druid, 5 rogues and a mage iirc) survives until t3, at which point the druid could not sustain her own hp and the group wiped. With our 30 or so goodish dps we were killing the roots one after the other during the attempt since the respawn was just so fast. Even if we do have t8 offhands, these adds (caustic aside) are elemental so the poison resist won’t help and the skills aren’t that much better than edl offhand. We also don’t really have a spare druid since 5-6 for main tank is pushing our druid supply


What I’d suggest is: nerf the auto and hp on the 5* roots so that our dps can actually kill them without needing more toons than a prot kill, and increase the respawn time so that we have some downtime to actually kill Bt.

Obviously we reset it, didn’t get a chance to hit bt, and were hundreds of plat down each

You should use one offtank and druid in offtank group..
I like the challange.. same situation here.. undermanned/geared.
We had around 47 players at the boss..
Many heavy guns didnt show up for boss..
Im sure that we will get him if we get around 50 players.

The most we have ever had on for a raid in InnerCircle was 57 for gele after a good while of not killing him. Very unlikely we will ever get those numbers again for BT unless more active people join.

It was our first attempt and more of a practice run but we were able to down both 5* roots, dps bloodthorn a little but the other 5* spawned again extremely fast. Our stronger druids with the right skills and breath gear can keep an add tank and 6 dps alive, but when you have 3+ groups of dps and when main tank currently needs 5 druids to tank BT that’s really pushing it for us. If the aoe from 5*s wasn’t so harsh or maybe it took longer to go from tier 1 to 2 and 3 it might be easier. Or if you gave us more ways to counter it instead of simply more toons. Gearing people with DG would just make them die faster because of it’s lack of resistances.

We will keep trying but needing 60+ people for a boss on a game that has several servers seems a bit ridiculous atm.

the first root respawn will always be the fastest one, when you consider your dps doesn't haste or lix usually until boss starts. After that second wave you start making real progress on boss
I recommend having 2 addtanks on roots with no druid, have them both taunt spam each root when it spawns, and save your druid for tank (our last kill, the tank comfortably tanked with 5) and any other tank make them log dps alts if they have any, you should try to only have 3 tanks at the raid total
