Disciplinary Procedure Changes

#1
Hey guys!

As many of you are aware, we've been cracking down a bit on certain types of breaches in our Terms of Service as well as harassment. Not all bad behavior is created equal and our disciplinary procedure should reflect that. It should reflect protecting those players that play our game legitimately, fairly and with the intention to enjoy and bring joy to the community. It should not protect those that seek to disrupt others' gameplay, break our Terms of Service and show no willingness to change. This post is to inform you that we have updated our policy; discuss a bit about the future; address some specific examples for this community.

Gaming has long had a reputation for bad behavior. Us, like many other gaming companies, feel it is our duty to step up and take responsibility. We will be working to create policies and programs to reward good behavior and weed out the bad. With so much of our lives and social interactions happening online, it is no longer acceptable to disregard others from behind a screen.

With this said: YES, we will be cracking down on items such as harassment, but we want to give people a chance to be better. We will not be accepting reports that are older than 2 weeks old. If you face harassment, report it immediately and frequently as it happens. Take screenshots and/or video.

Additionally, please be mindful of transferring accounts. DO NOT BUY AN ACCOUNT. If you buy an account, you will likely lose your money. Once we find out it's a bought account, it will receive an immediate and permanent ban. This goes for any black market transaction. These types of offenses are not up for appeal.

NO, if you were banned prior to this post, you may not appeal based on the previous policy.

The policy is posted on the website and we will post it below for your review. Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding.

Here at Celtic Heroes, we value our players' safety and experience. We feel we have a duty to create a fun and safe environment in which to play and protect our players from scams, harassment and other disruptive behavior. We have created this disciplinary procedure for transparency to those that follow the rules; not for those, that break them. This policy has been updated as not all offenses are created equal and our disciplinary procedure should reflect that. Infraction severity is determined by team members in conjunction with internal guidelines. Our internal guidelines attempt to steer clear of game bans, especially permanent bans, but we do understand sometimes these are necessary. We do not wish to reward bad behavior and will not reward players that participate in such actions.

The disciplinary procedure is a tiered procedure, and is structured as follows:

Light Infractions:
Level 1: If a player commits a light infraction, they will receive an in-game warning telling them they have broken an in-game policy and should stop engaging in this activity immediately.
Level 2: If a player continues breaking in-game policies after being warned, they will receive a final warning stating that if they continue to be in breach of in-game policies their account may receive restrictions.
Level 3: If a player continues to participate in bad behavior after level 2, their account will receive restrictions without any further warning or notice.

Moderate Infractions:
Level 1: If a player commits a moderate level infraction, they will receive one in-game warning telling them they have broken and in-game policy and that continued use will result in account restrictions.
Level 2: If a player continues, the account will receive restrictions without any further notice or warning.

Severe Infractions:
Level 1: If a player commits a serious infraction, their account will receive immediate restrictions on their account without any warning or notice.

Not all infractions are available to appeal. If you feel like your ban was in error (these do happen), then you may submit an appeal request. The account in question will be investigated, and depending on the outcome of this investigation will either be restored or remain disabled.
If, after an account has been disabled but later restored, the user continues to be in breach of in-game policies, the account will be disabled a final time and no appeal will be considered.
Although all users are subject to this disciplinary procedure, if we judge a breach of in-game policy to be very severe, we reserve the right to disable an account without warning. Users may appeal this decision.
This policy may be modified or tweaked at the discretion of the team at any time. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
