Magic is the best one currently, keep your spider one for mobs weak to poison.
Of course, the negative for magic is the low likelihood of a mage running a decent magic lure.
With magic lure being a must for Prot many mages are running it in their builds, in Gwydion at least, also helps DPS druids.

if only you could use two pets at a time ;-; mages would be even more op with cold dragon and rabbit heals :3
