Does fishing ability actually do anything?

My fishing ability has gone up while I level, but I haven't noticed it affecting anything. Fishing damage and max concentration has stayed the same as far as I noticed. I'm wondering, what does this ability do?

Unless it affects the chance of getting a good fish, or at least to not get a boot, of course using OTM's random algorithm, nothing.

I haven't noticed it help anything either. Probably a bug.

It would be nice if fishing ability worked by increasing your odds of catching anything other than boots. Preferably increasing ones odds towards premium catches such as bear quest items and higher tiered jewelry. Im fishing level 52 and so far items with fishing power and concentration boosts work the best imo. I havent received any items with fishing damage yet.

Ive noticed not all my pulls actually do 'dmg' to waters, maybe its a chance to actually miss?

Correct, higher your fishing ability less chance of evades.

Yes.
Fishing Ability has ability to make wisdom lixes disappear faster from my inventory. ..* runs away crying*
