The definition of DPS is damage per second, look at a mage's damage per second. They have much much much slower attacks, while the rogues keep adding to the sum by seconds, while mage adds to the damage pool by minute. It's just like a DPS warrior vs rogue, the warrior hits very very large and slow, while the rogue hits maybe a little weaker but faster. Every class is balanced in my opinion. What the warrior lacks in speed, it makes up with it's health. So mages are slower, so they have a DPM, damage per minute, while the rogues have DPS, damage per second. Mage - ice, fire, fire, fire, ice,- Rogue - Sneaky, Quick, Quick, Quick, Quick, Quick, (Per Minute)

Damage per second isn't calculated with 1 hit it's over a stretched period of time. If you go 15 minutes long pure damage war between mage and rogue, infinite energy for all a mage would win. Best damage per second obviously showing it has a higher average rate of damage over a set time no matter if it's shown in seconds minutes hours or days.

I'm gonna use random numbers just to show you what I mean.

So say a mage does 50,000 damage in 5 minutes, and a rogue does 35,000 in that 5 minutes.

The mage does 10,000 damage per minute, while the rogue does 7,000.
The mage does 166.7 damage per second, while the rogue does 116.7.

So as you can see it doesn't matter in which way you say it, it still means the same thing.

Whats weird is my Ranger can out dps a full dos fire mage yet a rogue 127ish can out dps me sometimes, although no this mage isnt a noob he has some of the best gear and does around 2k+ bolts while i do 300-400 auto so wtf
