Necro-posting involves resurrecting dead threads. General rule of thumb is if it's more than a couple months old (depending upon the topic; some things it matters less), and you have new info or a relevant question, start a new thread. You can reference old topics (explicitly with a link or just mention that they exist), but try to leave old stuffs alone to prevent confusion.

Do not post on old or out-of-date topics.
