I have never had the patience to farm vials. I asked a rogue to farm some for me and he got several an hour.

I agree I always leveled with a shield and eshield. You have to have a high energy regen for this.

I have been to a number of bosses that reset. It is often quick and messy.
My guess is it was bad luck and nothing more.

Energy is an issue for mages. Anyone who did not have issues invested heavily to avoid that problem. Use energy boost which can take away from dps but works. Use lures in group.
